Reincarnation - Planetary studies at death and rebirth.

I came across two esoteric sources pertaining to reincarnation and the astrological significance of the death signature i.e., planetary configuration/symmetry, which are said to carry over into the next incarnation(s), depending on which planetary sequence depends on karmic building or inheritance from the past. The following quotes are given below one from Rudolf Steiner and the other Alice A Bailey (both from the School of Theosophy) that indicate similiar patterns.

From “Hermetic Astrology 1” Robert Powell (Rudolf Steiner) states:

''When a person passes through the gate of death he dies under a
certain configuration of stars. This configuration is significant for his
further life of soul because it remains there as an imprint. In his soul
there remains the endeavour to enter into this same configuration at
a new birth, to do justice once again to the forces received at the moment
of death...if one works out the configuration at death and compares
it with the configuration of the later birth one finds that it coincides to
a high degree with the configuration at the former death.''

NB. By "configuration" I assume Steiner means the aspectural pattern between lives, for instance if the death chart shows Sun opposite Mars (180°), then by his meaning the next life will have a similiar ("coincides") pattern, not neccesarily the same configuration but a contact between the same planets, 0°/45°/90°/135°/180° or 0°/30°/60°/120°

Alice A Bailey “A Treatise on White Magic” p 436

“The particular month in which a man comes into incarnation is indicated
to that soul by the month in which it passed out of incarnation in a previous
life cycle. If it, for instance, died in the month governed by the sign Leo, it
will return into incarnation in the same sign, picking up the threads of
experience where it left it,…”

Therefore if we take these two statements at face value we should have a clear picture of the same planetary connections i.e., one at death connecting with the immediate next birth, the following case studies are given below, caution however is needed as to whether the last incarnation is the immediate one, a short life can easily slip into this one, it is of course a difficult matter but a gap of a few decades or less should help minimise the inaccuracy.

This particular section deals with individual reincarnational cases which have been sorted in merit i.e., probable, possible, or speculative, of course this is a purely subjective matter as one cannot be 100% certain of past life memories. But a start has to be made and the individual data is given below.

The planets outlined in green have the "same configuration" aspectural connection from Death to Rebirth:
For example, Beckwith's Mercury -60- Mars at Death and Mercury -30- Mars at Snow's Rebirth, if in the Synastry column there is also the same pair highlighted (as in this case) then the connection strengthens the significance. Also in the Synastry column certain same planetary pairs are underlined in red these signify the same such as Uranus trine (120°) Uranus, Moon sextile (60°) Moon and so on.

The = sign denotes planetary pairs having a dual affinity to each such as Sun/Mars=Mars/Sun, i.e., Beckwith's Sun to Snow's Mars and Snow's Mars to Beckwith's Sun, these may also be significant indicators.

I have also added a midpoint chart (for Death/Rebirth) to show similiar angularity usually a 90° aspect within a 4° orb but also (in a few cases) the 120° aspect, these alignments may or may not be significant. We find for example that Sun/Jupiter (SO/JU) midpoint in both death/rebirth charts are sharing a common axis around 20°/24° Leo. The full MP picture in the radix charts (not shown) gathers together both death and rebirth charts - SO/JU = MA=UR in the death chart. MA/UR = 22°SC death chart!

We will gather all these points together as we begin to study the cases below.

We will start with Bailey’s theory first since this is the easiest to clarify relating to the Sun position at death with the Sun position at the next incarnation i.e., same Sun signs.

There is no correlation with the sun signs in fact the opposite is seen with a broad opposition 25°.

Bailey's theory of the death of the immediate past incarnation Sun sign corresponding with the next incarnational Sun sign does not seem to hold out. Of all 15 cases only one person (Whittier/Sakellarios) has the {sun-death-0°-birth-sun} formula.
